A must read for Africans & African-Americans

This is a well written book about Bible prophecy & Black African people. It takes many things I've heard all of my life about Black Africans in the Bible and presents them logically.
From the beginning it can appear insulting, self-defeating, and even scary. But stay with the book, because it really isn't any of those things. I actually find its revelations satisfying & empowering. Yet it makes to extremely sad, because I know many Black Americans will refuse to even entertain or take it upon themselves to challenge its contents when in reality it just answers a lot of questions Black people talk about all of the time.
You'll find you'll really want to disagree with the author's facts. It's a hard pill to swallow. Yet if you stay with the book, you find that it's actually in Black people's best interests to agree with the author. However, if you think that you don't believe in a higher power, maybe all of Joyce Andrews' findings will be lost within your pride & other emotions. (Good thing everyone actually does believe in some form of higher power-even if they don't know they do.)
What the book most lacks:
- Insufficient amount of maps
- Illustrated history timelines
- Sort-of family tree graphics of African people
- Sort-of family tree graphics of African nations or countries
- Better explanation of the two Ethiopian eras, regions, and timelines

THE TRUTH IS OUT THEIR.. ABOUT THE BLACK RACE.

This book, "The Legacy of the Black Race" is a book for this time, far too long the truth have been denied to us as a people. The God of the ages, has removed the vail, the book is unsealed. The truth cannot be hidden, this book should be in every class room, in every Church that preach Jesus The Christ. The black people across America, the Cribbean, Central and South America should get a copy of this book and free themselfs from the prison of their minds. After you read this book, you will never look at another black person the same way again. I have alway known the truth about this prophecy concerning the Black race. And I have always ask myself this Question why is this not taught in the Black Churches. And I realize that Satan has blinded them. Hosea 4--6 "My people are destroyed for lack of Knowledge. Because you have rejected Knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for me; because you have forgotton the laws of your God, I also will forget your children."
Thanks Joyce Andrews for writing this book it was God instructing you to do this. To bring the truth into the light. may the peace of Christ be with you...

Empowering and Enlighting

I found this book to be easy reading and definitely inspirational in its entirety.

Those of us that understand Gods words must take into affect that there has to be some validity within its text. How else can a race of people for over 400 years still be down trodden and why?

All is explained clearly as all is explained with other situations within the Bible. Racist? Nahhh, just good ole fashion Truth being revealed in its simplest forms.

Please read this book with an open mind and a open heart and if you the reader can come up with factual information to explain opposite wise why the climate of blacks is what it is compared to every word that was written in her book then..I will wait for your book to be published and I will read it with the same open mind as I did hers.

Too many facts to be ignored here......I loved it!!!!!!!

Peeling back the Mysteries

Disclaimer- I am one of the contributors of this anthology. And still in awe of the company my words keep. We have some seriously heavy hitters in this book.
Which is one of the best anthologies I've ever read. There is gorgeous artwork, lyrical poetry, scholarly essays, deeply transformative rituals, humor, sorrow, and above all, numberless keys to enriching one's relationship with Persephone. The Sacred Way is more than an historical reference to the path of the epoptai, and far more than a destination sought by true seekers. It reminds us that we don't find answers in books, but books can give us hints and clues that allow us to get glimpses into the Mysteries governed by this liminal Goddess.

Queen of the Sacred Way is simply one of the best additions to my occult library in years. I have almost read it cover to cover, but it keeps grabbing me and tossing me around its pages with moments of inspiration and Aha!

I cannot suggest this book enough, it really does pack an amazing amount of creative and scholarly work into one magnificent study.

The author obviously spent a lot of time researching and documenting the facts that he shares in this two volume series of books on the Prophecies of Daniel and Revelation.
Men and women of all ages, from all church denominations, have attested that once they read this book, their is no doubt that the interpretations given for end time prophecies are accurate.
This book will inspire you, give you greater confidence in the Bible, and will make the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation so clear, that you will be able to teach them to your freinds yourself!

Adequate exposition

I have both volumes of God Cares, covering Daniel and Revelation. Maxwell does a good job of providing background information one really needs to understand prophecy. This is invaluable. I don't agree with all of his interpretation however. For example in interpreting Daniel 8:13,14 Maxwell vehemently denies the possibility that The "little horn" could be Antiochus Epiphanes. He evidently has to support his Seventh Day Adventist theology. This aside, I would recommend God Cares for Maxwell's competent treatment of history in understanding Prophecy.

This book is a must read. It is by far my favourite of J.S's books. It will have you completely hooked from the beginning to then end. Prepare for your mouth to be wide open and your eyes to widen as you turn each page. Trust me you will have absolutely no regrets with this book. Saskia will just have you going WTF and you'll be left wanting more!

James H. Williams, Jr. is the School of Engineering Professor of Teaching Excellence, Charles F. Hopewell Faculty Fellow, Professor of Applied Mechanics, and one of MIT's most widely acclaimed and honored teachers. he has received many awards and published numerous papers and reports in conjunction with his teaching, international consulting, and research. As a consultant, he has participated in the design of an offshore oil platform, the retrofitting of a hydroelectric power station to prevent earthquake damage, the dynamic and stress analyses of catapults, power, and propulsion systems for aircraft carriers, the design of calendar rolls for papermaking, and the design and analysis of a number of aerospace and automotive structures.

Excellent Book, but not for beginners

This is a great book for dynamics!

There are a lot of useful examples for every chapter, and the author goes into detail on a lot of the mathematical derivations that is used frequently throughout the book.

A cautionary note though: This book is not for beginners!

If you do not have a strong physics background and math background, this book is not for you since the material might be too advance. Otherwise, if you're comfortable with classical mechanics as well as using symbolic algebra and calculus, then this dynamics book might be just for you.

Depends on your needs

I took a Dynamics course this summer from a terrific professor. We used this book, and I found it very mixed. On the one hand, it does a much better job than many "intro" books at including advanced topics in it (Lagrangians, for instance), and in a way that can make a certain amount of sense. On the other, the writing oscillates (hah!) between moderately acceptable and opaque. Particularly in Ch. 8, much of the text requires you to understand the topics before the writing can be understood. On the other hand, also in Ch. 8, are some terrific short summary sections on single-degree of freedom oscillatory systems. So it's not all bad.

The arguably single worst thing about the text is the solutions manual. Calculus and algebra that take several pages for the student to do are skipped over with a sentence like "applying equation 6-15 to equation 6-23, we come up with..." the solution. Well, gee, I never would have thought of that, given that the problem says "Use equation 6-15 to show that..."

The second worst thing about it is the print quality. The first edition had two-color illustrations, but they had some errors in them. The errors are fixed in the 2nd edition, but the two-color printing was replaced with an absolutely terrible black halftone, where important information in some illustrations, esp. problems, is absolutely impossible to see. Several problems in ch. 3 were utterly unsolvable until I saw the versions in the 1st ed.

Bottom line is, in the hands of a skillful teacher, this book will not be an obstacle, and may be a modest help to learning some serious, advanced Dynamics at the introductory level. But may God have mercy on the souls of anyone trying to use this book to teach themselves, or to overcome a bad professor, for author Williams shall have none!

An odd reduction of Crandall's "Dynamics of Mechanical and Electromechanical Systems" with better pictures.
By Far-from-Equilibrium
This book is oddly situated in between an undergraduate engineering-oriented dynamics book (e.g. Hibbler, Merriam-Kraig), a typical undergraduate classical mechanics text from a physics curriculum (e.g. Marion & Thornton, Taylor), and a typical engineering vibrations book (e.g. Meirovitch). The book lacks treatment of 3-D motion of rigid bodies. Features an extensive treatment of variational formulations but lacks any discussion on symmetries or nonholonomic constraints (which makes it a weak physics treatment and even weaker engineering treatment). The treatment of Newtonian mechanics is too superficial and limited to supplant standard undergraduate engineering dynamics books. Perhaps portions on vibration could be suitable for an undergraduate vibration class but that's probably the best fit. Just odd choice of topics and presentation. This book would be a good choice to introduce undergraduate engineers to variational principles, but not to the point of justifying purchasing the book.
